Different Types of Lake Weed Removal
The DNR classifies lake weeds into three categories: Submerged Lake Weeds, Floating Lake Weeds, and Emergent Lake Weeds. Depending on the type of lake weed we are targeting, Dive Guys will use various techniques to combat the weeds

Submerged Lake Weeds
Submerged Lake Weeds are weeds that grow and exist beneath the water surface. This includes invasive species such as Eurasian Milfoil and Curly Leaf Pondweed, as well as native species such as Coon tail and Broadleaf.
Dive Guys method for removing submerged lake weeds is to hand pull the weeds from their root systems, using scuba gear in water that is deeper than waist deep.
Floating Lake Weeds
Floating Lake Weeds are weeds that have underwater stalks, but the tops of the plants “float” on the waters surface. Most commonly this refers to Lily Pads and Watershield.
Floating Lake Weeds have tube root systems that grow horizontally beneath the lake bottom surface. Dive Guys method is to hand pull these tube systems, removing all the content that could cause regrowth.

Emergent Lake Weeds
Emergent Lake weeds are weeds that grow in the water, but stick up out of the water surface. This commonly refers to Cattails and various forms of Reeds.
Dive Guys method for removing Emergent Weeds is to eradicate the hearty root systems by whatever means necessary. This could mean hand pulling, using a handheld tool such as a handsaw, or using gas powered equipment such as underwater hedge trimmers.
Compost
All lake weeds that are removed from the lake are transported to the compost, where the nutrient filled content is recycled and reused.

Beach Services
Whether you are looking to install a new beach or clean up your existing area, Dive Guys will make your waterfront a desirable place to be.
Muck Removal and Prevention
Muck is a component of decomposed lake weeds. So by removing the lake weeds, you are proactively taking away the content needed to form muck.

Miscellaneous Underwater Removals
Pollution, fallen timber, and sharp rocks are examples of underwater nuisances that can develop on your property. Contact Dive Guys for the removal of underwater nuisances that are simply unreachable. If it can be lifted and legally removed from the water, Dive Guys will make sure it gets done.
